ABOUT AUTHOR

Hi, I’m Sergio Funes — a lifelong learner, author, and firm believer in the power of values.
I’m in my late forties now, but some of the most meaningful things I carry with me come from my childhood — not expensive gifts or great achievements, but the values my father instilled in me before he passed away.
I lost him when I was very young — far too young. There were still so many conversations, jokes, and even arguments left to share. The past can’t be changed, but the future can.
As the years went by, his memory began to fade a little, and I didn’t want that to happen. Sure, I had photos, but what I really wanted was something that could keep his spirit alive.
I often thought about his way of being — his values, his humor, even in difficult times. So I began to write and relive those moments, because I didn’t want to lose them.
In the end, I realized that what I was writing wasn’t just memories — it was lessons and values. And through them, I found a way to keep him close. Those lessons have stayed in my heart ever since.
Over the years, I’ve heard so many parents, grandparents, and educators say, “Values are being lost.” That concern moved me to action. I started listening, collecting stories, and turning those insights into books that help children, teens, and adults reconnect with what truly matters.
The Children With Values collection was born from those conversations and from my own journey. These books are not just stories or activities — they’re designed to help children, teens, and adults internalize values, because when values are internalized, they naturally become part of everyday life.
I’m deeply grateful to all the parents and educators who shared their ideas, helping me shape these books into tools where values come alive.
Thank you to my mother, my family, and my friends for their example, support, and patience throughout this process. And thank you — the reader — for believing in the impact that values can have on your life, your child’s future (if you’re a parent), and on the world around us.
This project is not just mine. It’s built on the wisdom, experiences, and love of many people.
Because the greatest legacy we can leave to children isn’t made of gifts — it’s made of values they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives, and the reason they’ll remember us.
